Young Hyson, or Lucky Dragon Tea, comes from the Anhui Province of China. It is made from young thinly rolled leaves with a long twisted appearance that unfurls when brewed. The name Hyson is most likely derived from an Amoy name meaning flourishing spring tea, although other claims exist believing the tea to be named after an English tea merchant, Phillip Hyson. 
Full-bodied with warm plum-like tones and light spring-in floral flavor, Young Hyson, picked in spring, is considered a much higher quality tea than Hyson which is often thought of as a mediocre or low grade.
